Psychedelic SitRep 02.20

First of all, please accept my sincere apologies for not updating since October.
There was confusion and misinformation after the introduction of Japan's information protection law. And then Christmas and New Years happened. Then I learned the truth about the 2001 terror attacks – not terrorist -- on the United States. But we'll get back to that another time. Most of it is sorted out.

Since the recent revision of The Japan Times Online, I’m getting complaints that my articles are now hard to find. So, I decided that I will post here party names and a link to my current column. I won't post the whole content here for reasons I’ve mentioned in an earlier post.

Also, starting with the Feb. 17 installment, I am including CD reviews each week under the title “CD Case.”

So, here goes:

Party Blog: 02.18 Solstice Music, “Twisted Tour 2006,” Zepp Tokyo
A surprising number of people showed up for Hallucinogen, Younger Brother, and Prometheus -- all Twisted Records -- plus DJ sets by Tristan and Solstice resident Ryo. The actual number is elusive, but it felt like around 2,000 people.
Ryo’s DJ set was one of the best I’ve seen him play in a long while, and he managed to work in at least one track from the new “Wrecked Chords” compilation (release date TBA).
The music for the rest of the night was pretty dark and very heavy. You expect that heavy vibe from Hallucinogen and it goes well with the lasers. But a whole night of it in that environment will wear you down fast. By 4 a.m. I was out the door in search of fresh air.
